  2.                  Installing Garbage Can
  3.                  ----------------------

  5. The setup program (setup.exe) can ONLY be used on a
  6. Windows 95 system.  
  7.  
  8. Unzip the GC0196.ZIP file into a temporary directory.
  9. Then run the setup program.  Once Garbage Can has been
  10. installed, you can delete the Garbage Can files in the
  11. temporary directory.
  12.  
  13. The setup program will install all the files and then
  14. will make the necessary registry entries.  A new
  15. Program Group will NOT be created.  You can create a
  16. Program Group from your taskbar (<Start><Settings><Taskbar>).

  18. If you decide not to use Garbage Can, you can remove it
  19. by deleting the Garbage Can directory.  Then remove the
  20. DSREG.DLL and DSREG32.DLL files from the \WINDOWS
  21. directory.  If you feel comfortable, run the regedit.exe
  22. program, search on the word 'Garbage', and delete all
  23. the references.

  26.                 Installing on Windows 3.1 System

  29. 1) Create a new directory (i.e. c:\GARBAGE)
  30. 2) Unzip the GC0196.ZIP into the new directory.
  31. 3) Now unzip the GC_WIN31.ZIP file into the new directory.
  32. 6) Transfer the DSREG.DLL file in the new directory
  33.    to the \WINDOWS directory.
  34. 4) You can delete the CAN32.EXE file.
  35. 5) You can delete the DSREG32.DLL file.
